Sarah Elizabeth Davis (1887-1963)

Sarah and children: Alice, Venna, Ariel, Hubert & Willis.
Sarah Elizabeth Davis was born on 14 Oct 1887 [1] and was the 2nd child of the 17 children born to John Prout and Alice Lloyd Davis. (Whew!) Her father was born in Wales and her mother in England and both families immigrated to the United States. Sarah was born in Franklin, Oneida County, Idaho Territory. Idaho became a state in 1890.

At the age of 22, Sarah married Benjamin Harrison Campbell on 29 June 1910 [2] in the Logan, Cache County, Utah. A son, Ariel Davis Campbell was born to this union on 6 Oct 1912. She and Benjamin divorced and Sarah later married William Robert Smith on 29 Mar 1916 in the Logan Utah Temple [3]. Ariel was raised in William and Sarah's loving home and took the last name of Smith.

William became a widow when his wife Martha Annie Turpin died in 1915. After her death, he was left with 4 children, William, Edward, Lillian and Joseph, ranging in age from 5 to 16. Two more of their children, Annie and Harold had died as infants. Sarah became a mother to them and the family grew in size. William and Sarah had five more children, Hubert, Venna, Willis, John and Alice, making a total of 12 children born to the combined families.

Sarah died on 21 Apr 1963 in the Dee Memorial Hospital in Odgen, Weber County, Utah [4]. William had died the previous year. She is buried in the Preston Cemetery in Franklin County, Idaho.
